Step into Life transformed my life

"I first tried Step Into Life - Glenmore Park as an invited guest of my sister, she had told me about this personal training group she had started doing 2 nights a week at the local Softball fields. I was surprised as both Michelle and I have never been athletic or had a desire to get into any exercise program before.

She said that she enjoyed the classes and I would as well. I was apprehensive at first, and avoided committing to try the classes. When I did eventually attend the first class which was a boxing class, Deb was very inviting and encouraging. I enjoyed the class and meeting some of the other members so much, that I committed to join and attend 2 classes a week, that night.

This has been one of the best decisions and investments into my health and lifestyle that I have ever made. I started the program not sure if I would commit because the classes are not easy and you work very hard, no exceptions. But Deb had the ability to read my personality and understood what drives me to succeed, and uses this skill to push me to the limits she knows I am capable of.

I spent a few weeks working with Deb and Sue monitoring my regular diet plan and with their guidance, re-structured my approach to my food intake. When the invitation to try out the Metabolic Jumpstart was offered, I jumped at the opportunity. Over the previous 2 months, with my 2 nights a week training and diet guide, I had already lost 4 kilos and I was ready to go harder. I was feeling great and dropping the weight while starting to tone up as well.

I have been over weight for as long as I can remember and have tried most diets on the market including Jenny Craig, Tony Ferguson, Sure Slim, and Weight Watchers not to mention exercise programs at gyms, and the Curves program. A lot of time and money wasted on programs that just didn't work for me because they were either too boring in their food options, starved you of basic food groups, liquid diets or allowed you too many freedoms to eat food I knew I should not have been eating.

The Metabolic Jumpstart diet has been the first lifestyle program I have enjoyed without depriving myself of good foods and favourite recipes. It works with your current attributes and is designed to suit your individual lifestyle and fitness levels. It doesn't let you collect points so you can eat the food you know you are not allowed to eat but rather offers healthier choices when you are making your food choices.

It’s simple and easy to follow and to monitor, and its supported by an amazing website that offers great information and discussion forums as well as eating plans, recipes and nutritional information. During my initial 4 weeks, assisted with my Step Into Life training sessions and Deb and Sue monitoring my MJ diet, I lost 3.5 kilos in 4 weeks. I have continued with the MJ program and increased my training to 3-4 times per week. Since embarking on this journey with Step into Life and the MJ Program I have lost 35kg.

I recommend both Step into Life and the MJ program to anyone who wants to make an overall impact on their life, it has certainly changed my life.

Alzheimer’s & Dementia Prevention

Alzheimer’s & Dementia Prevention

How To Reduce Your Risk and Protect Your Brain

For many years, we’ve been told that there’s little we can do to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. All we can do, this line of thinking goes, is hope for the best as we age and wait for a pharmaceutical cure. But the truth is much more encouraging.
New research reveals that lifestyle factors play a significant role in protecting your brain as you age. You can reduce your risk of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias by eating right, exercising, staying mentally and socially active, and keeping stress in check. By leading a brain-healthy lifestyle, you may even be able to prevent the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease entirely and slow down, or even reverse, the deterioration of aging.

Who are you going to infect?

Fitness is contagious
Who are you going to infect?

Fitness is contagiousImagine if you could catch fitness like you can catch a cold or flu. Well, you can just by hanging out with healthy friends. And it's a good plan for 2012!

A new study of 3610 Aussie women aged 18-46 years revealed that those women who saw themselves as living in a community of active, healthy people were more likely to be fit and healthy themselves.

Get infected with fitness
If you are not so fit, make 2012 the year you start to hang out with healthy people. Call Deb at Step into Life Glenmore Park to take care of that. You'll be mixing with people who make wellbeing a priority and you'll pick up on their positive vibes.

Also, find a friend who walks, runs, swims or cycles and ask if you can join them. Sure, you might feel a little awkward at first if they have to slow down for you. But they'll get a buzz from the company and helping you get fitter, so as Nike says, "Just do it!"

Start sneezing vitality

If you are fit, think of how many people you can infect with your vitality. Every person around you that you spread the fitness bug to will in turn help motivate you and motivate others. This builds your fitness community of support.

Who can you Jumpstart?

Recommending a Metabolic Jumpstart to your family, friends or workmates will also take care of the eating side of things and add an extra boost of motivation.

Sneeze away in 2012 .....

Easy Does It

Easy Does It

By Meghan G. Loftus Image by Tim De Frisco From the September 2011 issue of Runner's World
Running is hard. If you're targeting a goal—whether it's entering your first race or qualifying for Boston—you spend a lot of time pushing your limits. So when it comes time to run easy, you happily succumb to your inner plodder, right? Nope. "Not running slow enough on easy days is probably the number-one error runners make," says Greg McMillan, M.S., an exercise physiologist and running coach in Flagstaff, Arizona.

How To Beat Cravings Naturally

by Matt O'Neill ( BScMSc(Nut&Diet), APD, AN )

“I am addicted to sugar!” I here you say.Sure, there is some truth to this, but by following my three powerful steps you can break free from food cravings. When you eat carbohydrates (including sugar) you can trigger neurotransmitters in the brain, including calming 'serotonin' and feel-good 'dopamine'.
Repeated treats build a powerful behavioural and chemical pattern of reward that seems to sing, "I need to medicate with chocolate!" Researchers now even think that a single dose of fatty, sugary foods can start the junk food addiction.
But you can break the habit, step-by-step:

Why should I take Omega 3 Fish Oil capsules?

http://www.metabolicjumpstart.com/

Q: Why should I take fish oil capsules every day?

A: We all know the health benefits of regular physical activity, and we're increasingly aware of the benefits of consuming long-chain omega-3 fatty acids from fish or fish oil. But is combining fish-oil and exercise better than doing one or the other?
