Step into Life transformed my life

"I first tried Step Into Life - Glenmore Park as an invited guest of my sister, she had told me about this personal training group she had started doing 2 nights a week at the local Softball fields. I was surprised as both Michelle and I have never been athletic or had a desire to get into any exercise program before.

She said that she enjoyed the classes and I would as well. I was apprehensive at first, and avoided committing to try the classes. When I did eventually attend the first class which was a boxing class, Deb was very inviting and encouraging. I enjoyed the class and meeting some of the other members so much, that I committed to join and attend 2 classes a week, that night.

This has been one of the best decisions and investments into my health and lifestyle that I have ever made. I started the program not sure if I would commit because the classes are not easy and you work very hard, no exceptions. But Deb had the ability to read my personality and understood what drives me to succeed, and uses this skill to push me to the limits she knows I am capable of.

I spent a few weeks working with Deb and Sue monitoring my regular diet plan and with their guidance, re-structured my approach to my food intake. When the invitation to try out the Metabolic Jumpstart was offered, I jumped at the opportunity. Over the previous 2 months, with my 2 nights a week training and diet guide, I had already lost 4 kilos and I was ready to go harder. I was feeling great and dropping the weight while starting to tone up as well.

I have been over weight for as long as I can remember and have tried most diets on the market including Jenny Craig, Tony Ferguson, Sure Slim, and Weight Watchers not to mention exercise programs at gyms, and the Curves program. A lot of time and money wasted on programs that just didn't work for me because they were either too boring in their food options, starved you of basic food groups, liquid diets or allowed you too many freedoms to eat food I knew I should not have been eating.

The Metabolic Jumpstart diet has been the first lifestyle program I have enjoyed without depriving myself of good foods and favourite recipes. It works with your current attributes and is designed to suit your individual lifestyle and fitness levels. It doesn't let you collect points so you can eat the food you know you are not allowed to eat but rather offers healthier choices when you are making your food choices.

It’s simple and easy to follow and to monitor, and its supported by an amazing website that offers great information and discussion forums as well as eating plans, recipes and nutritional information. During my initial 4 weeks, assisted with my Step Into Life training sessions and Deb and Sue monitoring my MJ diet, I lost 3.5 kilos in 4 weeks. I have continued with the MJ program and increased my training to 3-4 times per week. Since embarking on this journey with Step into Life and the MJ Program I have lost 35kg.

I recommend both Step into Life and the MJ program to anyone who wants to make an overall impact on their life, it has certainly changed my life.

Alzheimer’s & Dementia Prevention

Alzheimer’s & Dementia Prevention

How To Reduce Your Risk and Protect Your Brain

For many years, we’ve been told that there’s little we can do to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. All we can do, this line of thinking goes, is hope for the best as we age and wait for a pharmaceutical cure. But the truth is much more encouraging.
New research reveals that lifestyle factors play a significant role in protecting your brain as you age. You can reduce your risk of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias by eating right, exercising, staying mentally and socially active, and keeping stress in check. By leading a brain-healthy lifestyle, you may even be able to prevent the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease entirely and slow down, or even reverse, the deterioration of aging.
